The Batik Mom | Handcrafted Batik Creations Inspired by Heritage and Tradition

During a transformative period in my life I felt a deep need to turn inward. I meditated often, seeking to discover who I truly was at my core. This journey led me to explore my roots—who were my ancestors and what legacy had been passed down through generations?

Alongside this introspection I felt a surge of creativity and a desire to express it. While searching for baby essentials and meditation items like batik cushions and yoga bolsters I couldn’t find what I was looking for. So, I decided to make them myself. This was the beginning of my creative journey.

I took a sewing course and immediately connected with this new form of expression. Borrowing my father’s sewing machine which once belonged to my Indonesian grandfather, I started crafting my own batik creations.

From travel cushions to baby items, canvas bags and keychains, my pieces began spreading within my network. And with many people carrying a piece of Indonesia with them. After much consideration (as I can be quite malu) I finally launched my brand: The Batik Mom.
