Rooted in the rich heritage of my Indonesian ancestry, I bring a deep passion for Boogie Woogie and Blues to life through my piano. A self-taught musician, I honed my craft by immersing myself in countless hours of practice, learning from masters on YouTube.

My perfectionist traits made me hesitant to perform in front of people in the beginning of my musical journey, but I learned to embrace the raw and uncut energy of live performance;  proof that passion trumps perfection.

Music runs in my blood. I’m proud to be the son of Johnny Laporte, a renowned blues guitarist who has shaped the Dutch blues scene for over 50 years. Touring with him across the Netherlands, I’ve had the privilege of playing drums, piano and guitar om stage in the Dutch Blues scene.

As a Boogie Woogie & Blues pianist I go by the name Juul's Boogie Academy and you can find me on YouTube, Tiktok and Instagram.
